2.2 INTENDED USE

Brain Navi Nasal Swab Robot (NSR) is a computer-controlled electromechanical arm. It is intended to be used to collect the sample of secretions from the uppermost part of the throat, behind the nose by Brain Navi Nasal Swab Robot in suspected cases of whooping cough, diphtheria, influenza, and various types of diseases caused by the coronavirus family of viruses, including SARS, MERS, and COVID-19. Procedure is based on a three-dimensional imaging with facial and nasal characteristics to move through nostril, twirl the swab, then remove it and place it in a vial. The system is intended for use by healthcare providers to guide robot to perform the collection of nasopharyngeal swab samples. It is indicated for any collecting processes in which the use of nasopharyngeal swab may be appropriate.
