2.1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Brain Navi Nasal Swab Robot is a robotized platform through Finger Gripper to hold a nasopharyngeal swab to assist the health care worker for collecting the sample of secretions from the uppermost part of the throat, behind the nose. Brain Navi Nasal Swab Robot is composed of a compact Robotic Arm and Display Screen mounted on a wheeled Trolley. Different types of nasopharyngeal swab may be attached to the end of the arm according to the requirements of the procedure to be completed.
The touch screen permits to ensure the communication between Brain Navi Nasal Swab Robot and its user by indicating the realizable actions as well as by proposing various commands.
Its operating principle is based on different stages:
- Installation of NSR in the hospital and fixation of the wheeled Trolley and Chin Holder;
- Put the patient’s chin on Chin Holder;
- Fix Nasal Clip into the nostrils;
- Acquisition of the facial and nasal characteristic 3D images;
- Registration of the pre-operative 3D image data with NSR;
- Execution of collected the sample procedure according to the pre-operative planning.
